The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has continued the discussion on the issue of short term rentals (STRs) that was originally set to be heard at its Sept. 19 meeting. There has not been an alternative date scheduled for the discussion. This decision was made so that more outreach could take place, according to Helen Chavez, spokesperson for Supervisor Kathryn Barger.
“Pursuant to the Board’s motion, the Treasurer and Tax Collector Council (TTC), Dept. of Regional Planning and the Chief Executive Office have convened a series of community webinars to present the proposed STR ordinance requirements. Multiple language translations were made available during the virtual community forums,” Chavez stated.
The most recent webinar was on Aug. 28; prior to that there were two in 2022 and two in 2020. Notices for these meetings were sent out via email announcement to about 500 recipients, including town councils and associations, and posted webinar information was placed on departmental websites.
The TTC will be conducting an in-person presentation tonight, Sept. 15, at both the meetings of the Crescenta Valley Town Council (CVTC) and Altadena Town Council. The CVTC meets at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library Community Room, 2809 Foothill Blvd.
“We encourage the community to attend,” said President Chris Kilpatrick, CVTC.
