The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce has begun notifying recipients of the 2011 Recognition Awards.
Each year the Chamber receives nominations of people from all walks of life with one common goal of serving their community. A Chamber committee reviews all the nominations and presents them to the executive board for their vote.
Two awards have been announced thus far. Crescenta Valley High School band director Matt Schick was recognized as Educator of the Year and CVHS senior Molly Shelton was recognized as Student of the Year.
More award recipients will be announced next week.
