Skate Park Approved

The Los Angeles County board of supervisors at its Tuesday meeting approved a skate park for Crescenta Valley Park.

The skate park is  a project that was started by local skaters and led by Cooper Iven, who began the project when he was a junior at Crescenta Valley High School. Iven has since graduated from CV and is on his way to University of California, Santa Barbara.

The Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Dept. worked alongside the skaters in order to create a skate park that would be embraced by local users. Iven followed the process as outlined by parks and rec, writing emails and reaching out to local organizations and businesses to gain support.

The next step is to schedule three community meetings to discuss the proposed skate park and to get feedback from skaters, business owners, neighbors and the community.
