Crescenta Valley Sheriff Station detectives are investigating an animal poisoning incident that occurred in the 4100 block of Hampstead Road in La Cañada Flintridge on Aug. 25.

The victim’s dog ingested a meatball containing strychnine. There was one other documented incident of animal poisoning in the 4100 block of Hampstead Road in January 2009.

Detectives have no investigative leads other than the substance the dog ingested. The investigation is ongoing.
