Sept. 10
Angeles Crest Highway and the second turnout in La Cañada Flintridge, a deputy noticed a man and woman parked in a vehicle in the turnout. They asked the driver, a 20-year-old Van Nuys man, what he was doing at the location. He allegedly told the deputy he had been at the location two to five hours drinking and looking at the view. He reportedly agreed to allow the deputy to search his vehicle. He told them he did not have anything illegal in the car. The deputy searched and found a loaded, unregistered firearm in the vehicle. The man said he found it near a trash can. He was arrested for possession of an unregistered loaded firearm, possession of a concealed loaded firearm and possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle at
2:51 p.m.


Sept. 8
600 block of Knight Way in La Cañada, cash was taken from an unlocked vehicle overnight.


Sept. 7
1800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, UPS packages were stolen from the front of a home. Video surveillance revealed a suspect walking from the property and entering a Toyota Prius.


Sept. 3
1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard in La Cañada, a 47-year-old Altadena woman was arrested for elder abuse. The woman was sleeping in the front seat of the victim’s car. The victim accidently hit the woman’s leg, which made her upset and she began hitting the victim in the face. The woman was transported to USC Verdugo Hills Hospital at 4:30 p.m.

1900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a vehicle window was smashed and a purse was stolen from a vehicle between 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

Sept. 1
2900 block of Henrietta Avenue in La Crescenta, several medical items were stolen from a vehicle. A video surveillance revealed a man entering the unlocked vehicle and removing a black nursing bag. The suspect left and returned moments later. He opened the vehicle’s trunk and removed more medical items. The suspect left only to return again in a dark colored car. This time he is with another man. They got into the trunk again and took more items at 6:30 a.m.
