Last Saturday the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual Running of the Foothills 5K and Fun Run that began at Two Strike Park.

Over 300 runners, and walkers, traversed the 3.1-mile course that began with runners taking their mark at 8 a.m.

The run is a fundraiser for the Chamber and for local schools or youth organizations with $5 of each $20 entry fee going to the school/organization of the runner’s choice. The Chamber awarded Lincoln Elementary School the trophy for the most number of participants by percentage. The school also received a bonus $100.

James Keshavarez was the first to cross the finish line. (For a list of first and second place winners go to page 25.)

The first place winner of the Fun Run was fourth grader Nelson Blunt and his twin brother Quincy finished came in second place. Both attend La Crescenta Elementary School.
