It was hot – really hot – but that didn’t stop runners, walkers and their dogs from coming out to the California Council of the Blind Mutt Strut on Sept. 13 at Crescenta Valley Park.

This the second year the event was held at CV Park and, despite the weather, participants showed up and ran, or walked, a 5K or 2K.

Donna Pomerantz, Los Angeles California Council of the Blind Mutt Strut committee chair, thanked everyone for coming while keeping the event running smoothly.

“One of the fun things about Mutt Strut is that it gives our members and the community the opportunity to be out in a wonderful, welcoming venue and it promotes fitness and being able to walk or run,” Pomerantz said in an earlier CVW interview. “People are able to come out to a family event and bring their dogs.”

The event ended with a visit by the Glendale Police Dept.’s K9 Unit.

And everyone left with their own “wag bag” full of goodies for pets and pet parents.
