Sept. 23
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a 39-year-old Tujunga man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to pay a cashier at the Rite Aid pharmacy with a counterfeit $20 bill. Deputies discovered the man in his vehicle parked in the Rite Aid parking lot. In addition to discovering counterfeit bills, deputies also found narcotics and numerous tools commonly used to perform burglaries. The incident occurred at 1:17 p.m.

Sept. 22
2500 block of Montrose Avenue in La Crescenta, a residence was ransacked and money was stolen between Sept. 14-22.

Sept. 21
4700 block of Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta, a Rosemont Middle School student’s cellphone was stolen as she was waiting outside the school. She reported that as she was waiting for her parent to pick her up a man approached her and asked to use her cellphone. She handed him the phone, he made a phone call and then ran off with the phone. He then got into a waiting vehicle and drove off. The girl did not want to give a description of the suspect because, “I don’t want anything to happen to them. They are just kids,” she said.
The incident occurred at 3:20 p.m.

900 block of Coral Way in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a domestic dispute call. A man who was assessing the property heard the argument and was concerned so he contacted the Sheriff’s Department. Once deputies arrived they arrested the husband at the location for spousal battery, false imprisonment and, due to a child being in the home at the time of the incident, child endangerment. Deputies discovered several guns and ammunition in the home, of which they took custody due to the nature of the call. A deputy also discovered a large amount of marijuana, scales and a large amount of cash at the residence. The investigation is ongoing.
The incident occurred at 1:15 p.m.

11700 block of Little Tujunga Road in Lake View Terrace, detectives are continuing to search for a 45-year-old male transient after they stopped his vehicle for a routine traffic violation and discovered illegal narcotics and paraphernalia at 11:10 a.m.

2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a wall was vandalized at Crescenta Valley High School by someone drawing with a black marker at 3 p.m.

2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, someone entered a locked school gym locker and stole a backpack between 1 p.m. and 1:50 p.m.

4900 block of Angeles Crest Highway in Angeles National Forest, a 60-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested after deputies performed a routine traffic stop and found drug paraphernalia and narcotics in his vehicle at 3:10 a.m.

Sept. 14
2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a textbook, white board and mirror were stolen from a locked school locker at Crescenta Valley High School between Sept. 10-11.

2200 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose, a 43-year-old Montrose man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to force his way into a woman’s apartment.     The woman reported that she had only been living in her apartment for about a week. She witnessed the man earlier in the underground parking garage acting suspiciously. Later she heard a loud noise coming from the apartment next door. She went outside to see what the noise was and saw the same man manipulating the doorknob of the apartment next door. She immediately withdrew back into her residence. A few minutes later she heard someone attempting to gain access into her apartment. Her door was locked. She looked out the window and saw that it was the same man who was in the garage and apartment.
As the man continued to bang on her door, the window cracked. The woman called 911. The man ran when he heard a patrol vehicle arrive. The deputies arrested the man at 3:39 p.m.

2300 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, someone shattered the front glass door at Garden Grill and ransacked the restaurant and stole cash and receipts at 2:25 a.m.
