Officials from the Glendale Unified School District are holding a series of community meetings to share information about the District’s fiscal crisis and pending budget reductions.  The following topics will be addressed:  The structural deficit in the District budget; Board priorities in an environment of diminishing resources; reductions that have already happened; future reductions (teacher and staff layoffs, increased class size, and a shortened school year); and budget scenarios related to Proposition 30 and Proposition 38 in the November election.

Meetings are scheduled at the following regional locations:

Crescenta Valley High School            Monday, October 8, 2012

Glendale High School                         Monday, October 15, 2012

Hoover High School                           Monday, October 22, 2012

The meetings will take place from 7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. in the auditorium

All interested community members are encouraged to attend.
