Altura and Prospect avenues were closed down from La Crescenta to Rosemont avenues for about 45 minutes on Tuesday afternoon as Crescenta Valley Sheriff deputies conducted a search for an 18-year-old man from La Crescenta. The suspect allegedly entered the home of a family member in the 2700 block of Prospect Avenue. The homeowners had filed a restraining order against the man.

“[The [homeowner] contacted us and said she walked into her home and found him there,” said Sgt. Gloria Young.

The suspect than ran, causing deputies to secure the area. After a brief search deputies discovered the suspect near the home.  He was arrested for resisting a peace officer in the performance of duty, for trespassing, burglary and violating the restraining order.
