1600 block of Leycross Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a burglary call at a home. Deputies surrounded the home and conducted “call-outs” via a public address system. When there was no response deputies approached the home to check for signs of burglary. They found a door unlocked but no signs of burglary. The resident was contacted and told deputies that he had received an alert on his phone of motion detected inside his home. Internal surveillance cameras revealed a suspect, described as a male Hispanic, about 25-years-old, 5”10” tall, wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, tan work boots, black mask and a blue hat, moving through the rooms of the home. The suspect was not wearing gloves and appeared to have a horizontal black tattoo on his left hand. A witness reported seeing a man who matched the suspect’s description enter the home through an open gate at the end of the driveway. A few minutes later the man exited down the driveway, carrying a bag. He got into a car and drove eastbound and out of view.
The burglary occurred at 9:27 a.m.
1300 Padres Trail in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident received a notification on his cellphone of motion in his carport. He reported witnessing a suspect, described as a male Hispanic, attempting to open the resident’s vehicle doors. The doors were locked and the man walked away.
The attempted vehicle burglary occurred at 9:44 a.m.
La Crescenta and Prospect avenues in La Crescenta, while an employee with the Dept. of Public Works was working at the location he placed a receiver tool on top of the traffic controller box. He stepped away to work at another area of the location and when he returned the tool was missing.
Deputies later found the tool, now damaged, in the middle of La Crescenta Avenue near the Foothill (210) Freeway entrance. The theft occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Sept. 23
2100 block La Cañada Crest Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a vehicle was vandalized with a long key scratch from the front driver’s side fender to the rear driver’s side fender. The vandalism occurred overnight.

5200 block of Stardust Road in La Cañada Flintridge, a campaign sign was stolen from the front of a home between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
