A student was transported via Los Angeles County airship from Valley View Elementary to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Hospital on Wednesday morning after a fall at the school.
The child, a girl, was in line when she fell. It was not during recess, according to Glendale Unified School District Superintendent Richard Sheehan.
Sheehan, who at press time was gathering information concerning the incident, said he understood the student was coherent when she was transported.
“Her mother did arrive before she was transported and was able to [go with her],” Sheehan said.
A PhoneEd was sent out to Valley View parents informing them of the incident.
“We were notified that a student had a medical emergency,” said Captain Huber of Glendale Fire Station 28.
He added the decision to air lift was made in the best interest of the child.
“The helicopter landed on school grounds,” he added.
“The [student] was released from the hospital and is in the care of her parents,” Sheehan said Wednesday afternoon.
