The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has released the name of a man who died after losing control of his motorcycle on the Angeles Crest Highway.

The California Highway Patrol had responded to the motorcycle accident at 11:22 a.m. on Sept. 22 on Angeles Crest Highway mile marker 27.65.

The driver, Dan Cretu, 38, of Valley Village had apparently lost control of his motorcycle. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.

“The cause of death was traumatic injuries,” said Ed Winter, L.A. County Coroner’s office spokesman.

Friends and fellow motorcyclists of the victim set up a memorial at the area of the Crest where the accident occurred.
