Fire trucks lined Honolulu Avenue early Friday morning, Oct. 1 but there was no fire nearby. The firefighters from Los Angeles County, L.A. City and Burbank were guests of the Glendale Fire Department at Station 29.
The stations’ personnel was touring the area as proactive training for future fires and emergencies.
“North Glendale [fire stations] are hosting this pre-fire tour. Los Angeles [City Fire] hosted it last time,” said Glendale Bat. Chief Anthony Arellanes.
The visiting fire departments were taken to areas like Whiting Woods that has one entrance/exit. The purpose is for other departments to familiarize themselves with areas they will more than likely have to assist with if and when fire breaks out.
“When we have a fire we have [support] coming from surrounding departments,” Arellanes added.
