Opportunity to Support Law Enforcement

By Mary O’KEEFE

A La Crescenta family is reaching out to their community to support law enforcement.

With the recent murders of two officers in Palm Springs and most recently the killing of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. Sgt. Steven Owen, the family wanted to show support for local law enforcement by inviting family, friends and neighbors to donate items for the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station and the Glendale Police Dept. Items suggested include tissues, hand sanitizers, pens and gift cards from grocery markets or fast food places like In-N-Out and Subway. And, of course, Starbucks and Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf gift cards.

Anyone who would like to donate can do so by bringing items to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4550 Raymond Ave. in La Crescenta from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 15. The items will be collected in the church’s parking lot off Rosemont Avenue.

Volunteers will be delivering the items to the CV Sheriff’s Station and GPD.
