Members of the community headed to Montrose this afternoon for the ribbon cutting ceremony and grand re-opening of the C.O.P.P.S – Community Police Partnership Substation – hosted by the Montrose Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce.
In 1996, the Glendale Police Dept. and the Montrose Shopping Park Association opened the Montrose substation to improve community safety. Since the partnership was developed, the Montrose Shopping Park Association has funded the operating costs of the substation. Pat Grant, the owner of the property, generously donated the office space to the Glendale Police Dept.

Recent renovations were made possible by a $10,000 anonymous donation from a local resident. The improvements have created a welcoming environment not only for the officers and volunteers, but also for the community and business owners of the North Area Command.
