Crescenta Valley Sheriffs are reminding residents to be aware of their surroundings while shopping.
On Oct. 6, a woman reported her wallet was stolen from her purse while shopping at Ralph’s Market in the 2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta. On the same day another women reported her wallet stolen from her purse while shopping at Home Goods in the 900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada. Both incidents happened between noon and 1 p.m.
“The purses were placed in the child’s seat in the shopping cart and were left unattended. It only takes an unattended moment and the wallet is gone,” said Sgt. Ray Harley.
