Crime Blotter

Oct. 10
2900 block of Fairmont Avenue in La Crescenta, a diaper bag and purse were stolen from an unlocked
vehicle overnight.

Oct. 8
At Angeles Crest Highway, mile marker 27.04, a 54-year old Rosemead man was arrested for felony spousal assault after deputies viewed the passenger of a vehicle pounding on the car’s front passenger side window. The vehicle was stopped and the deputies approached the car. The woman in the passenger seat yelled out, “Help me, he brought me up here to kill me” in Cantonese (the deputy was bilingual in Mandarin and was able to understand some of what the victim was saying). The deputies observed the woman had an injured lip that was bleeding and the man had blood on his hand. The man said he did not hit the woman. Apparently the
argument was over bills.
The incident occurred at 2:45 a.m.

El Camino Corto Drive and Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a 38-year-old Van Nuys man and a 35-year-old Los Angeles man were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools.  After a routine traffic stop, deputies discovered the driver of a vehicle had a warrant in name and the passenger had a suspended license.
A search of his vehicle
discovered prescription medication that he did not have a label on the bottle, drug paraphernalia and several items often used in burglary. Both men, allegedly, admitted to being members of gangs.
The incident occurred at 9 a.m.
