lendale Hosts Riverwalk Tour and Community Meeting #2

Wednesday, October 29

On Wednesday, October 29, the community is invited to explore Glendale Narrows Riverwalk and offer their ideas and opinions on bridge designs.  A Project Tour will begin at 4:00 pm at the entrance to Glendale Narrows Riverwalk Park located at the intersection of Paula Avenue and Garden Street.   Participants are urged to wear comfortable shoes for the one and a half hour walk along the north bank of the Los Angeles River.

The walk will be followed by a community meeting at 6:30 pm to discuss the design of the bridge over the Los Angeles River. The meeting will be held at Pacific Community Center Gymnasium at 501 South Pacific Avenue in Glendale.  Refreshments will be served.

This is the second of three community meetings intended to capture the community’s input regarding this unique community asset that will increase access to the L.A. River and Griffith Park, and improve the connections and safety of paths used for bicycling and walking.  The Riverwalk will also provide a gateway to the Grand Central Creative Campus, River Glen Opportunity Area, and the San Fernando Creative Corridor.
