Those traveling from the Newhall area using Interstate 5 and Highway 14 may experience major delays due to several big rigs that were involved in an accident early this morning.
At about 3:07 a.m. this morning two big rigs jack knifed blocking all lanes on the southbound I 5 and the State Route 14 truck route. Six other big rigs were also part of the accident. A SIG alert was issued at 3:29 a.m., according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.
As of 4:44 a.m. a driver of one of the big rigs was trapped in his vehicle. Fuel has also been spilled onto the truck route due to the collision.
All lanes of the southbound I5 and Highway 14 truck route will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
