Despite cloudy skies, hundreds showed up for the annual Glendale Police Dept. open house on Saturday, Oct. 13. Organizers worked through the rain the night before to prepare for the next day’s event.
The open house gave the community the chance to talk to Glendale officers from patrol to K9 and from SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) to air support. The fire department also had representatives on-site with a line of kids waiting to get their chance to climb onto a fire engine.
Community groups were well represented including Glendale Kiwanis and Glendale High School dance company.
There was a lot for kids to do, including a rock wall climb from Glendale Parks and Recreation, face painting and pedestrian safety active program presented by the Kiwanis.
