Pancakes sales a flipping success

If the long lines and happy pancake faces were any indication the Crescenta Valley Town Council Annual Pancake Breakfast was very successful.

“We served well over 800 breakfasts,” said councilmember and pancake chair Dennis Van Bremen.

Tickets were only $5 for pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee.  Tickets were sold by councilmembers and by local organizations from the area including Crescenta Valley High School clubs. The council split tickets sales, 50/50, with those organizations.

One of the ways the council uses the funds to support their scholarship programs.

“Our biggest supporters are the CVHS football team,” Van Bremen said.

He added that other sport departments including softball, volleyball and water polo are also strong supporters.

Van Bremen does not have the total amount made through the pancake ticket sales; he is waiting for all the clubs to turn in their money.  He is certain the council beat last year’s take.
