GPD Asking for Public’s Held with Identity Theft Suspect

Glendale police are asking for the public’s help in a identity theft crime. On July 12, a victim living in Burbank placed several bills containing checks into a mailbox in the city of Burbank. The checks never arrived to the intended recipients. A suspect described as an African-American male, 55 to 60 years old, 6’1″ tall with a medium build. He has a goatee and was wearing glasses at the time, unsuccessfully attempted to withdraw money from the victim’s account from a bank in El Segundo using a fake identification.

The suspect allegedly unsuccessfully attempted a second time on Aug. 8 in the 1600 block of North Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. On the same day, they suspect successfully withdrew $1,900 from the victim’s account at a Chase bank in Glendale.
