People began lining up early on Friday for their free flu shot offered by Los Angeles County Public Health and sponsored by CV Ready.
The shots were part of the CV Ready seasonal flu vaccine and emergency preparedness educational exercise outreach.
Sandra Gomez, RN and emergency preparedness public health nurse, proposed bringing the seasonal flu shot outreach to the Crescenta Valley to CV Ready president Roger Young.
“I thought it was a great idea,” Young said.
The two worked with Marta Wiggins of the La Crescenta Library to secure the community room.
People were lined up before the doors opened at 1 p.m. and by
3 p.m. they had given out 103 flu shots.
Two residents thanked Gomez and CV Ready for the seasonal flu shot program.
“We have never had one up here before,” one resident said.
