CVTC Elections
Voting for candidates for the Crescenta Valley Town Council takes place on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library. Candidates are Leslie Dickson, Robbyn Battles, Marti Marshall, Mike Claessens, Robert Thomas and Daniel Cheung. Those who live in the La Crescenta/Montrose unincorporated area and are registered to vote can vote for up to three candidates.

Blood Drive at La Can Pres
La Cañada Presbyterian Church is hosting a blood drive in its Fellowship Hall on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling the church office at (818) 790-6708 or visiting the website: redcrossblood.org. The sponsor code is lacanadapreschurch.
Walk-ins are also welcome. Donors are required to bring a photo ID with them.

Meerkats on the Agenda
On Saturday, Nov. 10, the City of Glendale’s Trails and Open Space is hosting its last campfire program of the year. “All for One and One for All: The Meerkat Way” takes place at Deukmejian Wilderness Park starting at 6:30 p.m.

Worn Flags Sought
JROTC members are collecting worn out American flags for a flag retirement ceremony that will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. on the Crescenta Valley High School softball field. Collection boxes are located at the offices of Andy’s Transfer and Storage, Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce, Crescenta Valley Insurance, CV Weekly, and J’s Maintenance.
Coffee with the COPPS
The next Coffee with the COPPS is on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Leon’s Bakery and Café. Local residents and business owners are invited to stop by and meet Area Commander Lt. Scott Bickle.

Treasure Sale
Collectibles, vintage and gently-used “good stuff” at a rummage sale on Nov. 3 at Shadow Hills Presbyterian Church, 10158 Johanna Ave., Sunland.
Ahead With Horses will also have a booth where they will be selling saddles as part of a fundraiser for the organization.
