Foothill shoppers are encouraged this Saturday to visit local boutiques that will offer homemade and unique items for sale.
The Prom Plus Holiday Boutique takes place at St. Luke’s of the Mountains – Sadler Hall, 2563 Foothill Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers will enjoy live music from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. provided by members of the Crescenta Valley High School Jazz Band. At 11 a.m., the CVHS a’capella group the Charismatics will be performing. Baked goods will be offered for sale and a selection of premium items will be part of an opportunity drawing. Also, the first 200 shoppers will receive a free reusable shopping bag.
All proceeds benefit Prom Plus, the after-prom event held for CVHS seniors and their guests. Prom Plus was started after a CVHS senior was killed at an unsupervised post-prom unsupervised hotel party. The annual Prom Plus event costs in excess of $20,000 a year to put on. The majority of the money raised is through donations and fundraisers, including Saturday’s boutique. To learn more, including information on the featured vendors, visit the Prom Plus Facebook page.
In addition to the Prom Plus Holiday Boutique, all are invited to the arts & crafts fair (including white elephant items) at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will feature artwork from local artists, baked goods, fall and Christmas decorations, handmade jewelry, knit items, lotions ad soaps, potted succulents, pottery, quilts and more. Free parking (in back) and free admission and refreshments.
Gethsemane Lutheran Church is located at 2723 Orange Ave. in La Crescenta.
