On Sunday, Nov. 10, Crescenta Valley Deputy Afsharian initiated a pursuit of a reckless vehicle on the southbound Glendale (2) Freeway near Mountain Avenue. The suspect vehicle was traveling at approximately 100 miles per hour. Deputies cancelled their pursuit due to the high speeds. Within seconds of the terminated pursuit, Deputy Afsharian located a traffic collision on the off-ramp at Mountain Avenue. He saw the suspect’s vehicle was involved in the collision and set up a perimeter.
Three suspects were detained and a large amount of jewelry was discovered. Deputies investigated further and learned a residential burglary had occurred on the 800 block of Lynnhaven Lane in La Cañada Flintridge. The owners came out and identified the jewelry as belonging to them.
The three suspects, one female and two male, were booked at Crescenta Valley Station for burglary, according to LASD Crescenta Valley station.
The two male suspects were both 20 years old and from Los Angeles; the female was 18 years old and from Long Beach.
“These are [allegedly] organized crews,” said LASD Sgt. Alan Chu. “This is their full time job.”
