From now until Nov. 19 at 6 p.m., Prudential California Realty is inviting the community to donate clean and reusable coats and sweaters for its annual campaign. The warm donations can be dropped off at their Glendale, Eagle Rock, La Cañada or Burbank locations.

People are encouraged to donate coats and sweaters of all different shapes and sizes so that those in need can shield themselves from the cold winter.

“Giving the gift of warmth is one of the simplest ways we can make a difference this season. We are confident that we will surpass our expectation this year for our second annual Coat Drive,” said broker and owner of Prudential Rick Bonyadi.

Once all the coats and sweaters have been collected, they will be donated to the Union Rescue Mission for distribution.

The Glendale Unified School District and the Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club also held their 12th annual Coats for Kids drive when they asked parents to donate coats that no longer fit their little ones.

From Sept. 17 to Oct. 2, kids coats were brought into schools in the district.

Participating cleaners from The Southern California Cleaners Association helped get the items clean and ready for wear by dry cleaning and refurbishing the coats. On Oct. 27, the community was invited to visit the Glendale Salvation Army from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. when the free coats were distributed to those in need just in time for the chilly weather.
