SCE Still in Town

By Mary O’KEEFE

Southern California Edison is continuing its work doing on local neighborhood streets. According to David Song, SCE spokesman, it is doing what is called a “cut over” where it is adjusting from a lower voltage to a higher voltage that will add to the capacity of the area.
There have been comments concerning trucks running stop signs and other issues including streets being closed without notice.

According to Song, SCE is supposed to send a “Dear Neighbor” letter to residents whose streets will be closed prior to the closing but, in some cases, that has not happened. There are also supposed to be notices on the street prior to closing; however, that too has not happened in some cases.

Song added that those working in the area may not be SCE employees but are contractors who must follow the standards set for SCE. He suggested anyone who sees workers running stop signs or have any other issues should get the license plate number and any other identifying numbers on the truck/trucks. They should report the information to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, (818) 248-3464, SCE customer support at (800) 611-1911 or contact CVTC representatives.

There has been a notice that SCE will begin work on Rosemont Avenue near Rosemont Middle School at 8 a.m. today, Nov. 17. This will affect traffic for drop off and pick up of students.
