A La Crescenta woman has been identified by the Napa Valley Coroner’s Office as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a truck near Napa on Monday.
The accident occurred about 8:25 p.m. on Monday on State Route-221.
According to Capt. Steve Blower of the Coroner’s Office, the victim has been identified as Courtney Coventry, 36, of La Crescenta.
The victim reportedly walked into the path of a GMC box truck that was driven by a 32-year-old Napa man.
The woman is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.
“The [victim] was pronounce dead at the scene,” Blower said.
The driver was evaluated at the scene and is not suspected of DUI.
