With winter weather approaching, the Glendale Fire Department encourages residents to prepare for excess rainfall, possible flooding, and potential land erosion in and around the community. To prepare for rainfall runoff, all Glendale Fire Stations have been supplied with burlap bags that are available to the public for free. Residents who require additional sandbags can get them from the City of Glendale Public Works Yard located at 541 W. Chevy Chase Drive. The Public Works Yard can be reached by calling (818) 548-3950.
The Glendale Fire Department does not provide the sand to fill the sandbags. Please visit www.GlendaleFire.org and select the Public Information page for a list of local vendors where you can purchase pre-filled sandbags and/or the sand. Sandbag filling and placement instructions are also provided.
