Dunsmore Elementary Will be Released Early

Important Messages from GUSDGlendale Unified School District

  • Out of an abundance of caution, Dunsmore Elementary School has called for an early release today due to the Creek Fire. All EEELP programs at Dunsmore have been canceled. Students who are unable to be picked up early will be taken by bus to Crescenta Valley High School. Dunsmore families received a separate all call from Principal Stegman with additional details. As of now, no GUSD schools have been called for evacuation and no schools aside from Dunsmore have called for an early release. We will alert you immediately if the fire department recommends an evacuation of GUSD schools.

Firefighters continue to monitor the situation closely. If the fire progresses past a certain threshold with regard to fire progression and wind direction, they will call for an evacuation.

Schools in the La Crescenta area are making necessary accommodations for air quality, including limiting outdoor activities for students and staff. For information regarding your child’s specific school, please call the main office.

We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more information.

Further updates from the City of Glendale.

    Sincerely,

    Winfred B. Roberson, Jr.
    Superintendent of Schools
