In Brief

Closures Continue on Foothill Freeway

The California Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans) will close portions of the Foothill (I-210) Freeway as part of a pavement rehabilitation project. Scheduled closures are subject to change and/or cancelation.

Eastbound I-210 through Dec. 9 each night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Up to three lanes between Lowell Avenue and Lake Avenue; Lowell Avenue on-ramp, Ocean View Boulevard off-ramp, Pennsylvania Avenue, La Crescenta Avenue on- and off-ramps; eastbound I-210 connector to westbound SR-134; eastbound I-210 connector to I-710.

Westbound I-210 through Dec. 9 each night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Up to four lanes between Lake Avenue and Lowell Avenue; Walnut Street on-ramp; westbound I-210 connector to southbound I-710.

Residents and local businesses located near the freeway may notice noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities. Noise levels will not exceed state and federal regulations.

The night time closures are necessary to minimize traffic delays and provide a safe work zone for construction crews and motorists while working along the I-210.

Work Planned by SCE

Southern California Edison will be performing maintenance on the electrical system in the area. In order to perform this work safely, SCE must temporarily turn off power. This outage will allow the modernization of the grid by making needed upgrades and repairs to increase reliability. Power outages may cause some inconvenience and therefore attempts are made for outages to be isolated down to the smallest area possible and the work completed safely and quickly.

The work will start on Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Twelve residential customers will be affected and no commercial customers or Traffic Control meters will be affected.

The outage boundary is Rosebank Avenue, west side, north of Orchard Lane in La Cañada Flintridge.

Work is also scheduled on Dec. 14 at 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Eighty-eight residential and four commercial customers will be affected. The outage boundary is Georgian Road, south if Foothill Boulevard, La Cañada Flintridge.
