Foothill MWD Provides Tours of Facilities

On Nov. 19, the Foothill Municipal Water District hosted a class of fifth graders from St. Bede School where they learned about the local water supply cycle and conducted a groundwater experiment. Foothill is pleased to offer tours of its facilities to local area schools as well as Scout troops and other interested student groups.

“With the implementation of the new Common Core standards in local area schools, we see an opportunity in extending traditional classroom learning to real-world applications. Having students take tours of the Foothill facilities and engage in on-site activities promotes this integrated approach,” said General Manager Nina Jazmadarian.

General office hours for Foothill are Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule a tour with the FMWD, call (818) 790-4036.

Foothill Municipal Water District provides imported water to Crescenta Valley Water District, La Cañada Irrigation District, Mesa Crest Water Company, Valley Water Company, Lincoln Avenue Water Company, Las Flores Water Company and Rubio Cañon Land & Water Association.  Kinneloa Irrigation District, another retail agency, takes no water from Foothill.
