Glendale announces new chief of police

Ronald L. De Pompa is officially Glendale’s chief of police. The announcement was made at Tuesday’s Glendale City Council meeting. De Pompa has been serving as interim chief since the retirement of former Chief Randy Adams.
In a press release, city manager Jim Starbird said DePompa’s performance while interim chief and his longevity with the department were the deciding factors in the city’s decision to make him the chief.
DePompa is a native of Glendale. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the
University of San Francisco and a masters degree from the University of Southern California. He will continue to serve as an assistant professor at Glendale Community College.
