A flood debris preparation outreach meeting will be held for the Korean community on Dec. 19.
“We want to reach out to the Korean community,” said Kim Mattersteig, a local resident who was the catalyst for August’s fire evacuation drill in Briggs Terrace.
Mattersteig had been speaking with a Briggs Terrace neighbor, Dr. Young Seok, about the past flood/ mud flow meetings that had been conducted in the Crescenta Valley area. She and Seok began planning a meeting specifically for the Korean community.
Presenters at the meeting include: Dr. Youn Sim of the L.A. Department of Public Works, representatives from L.A. County Fire, U.S. Geological Survey and Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The meeting is open to the public and will be at 2 p.m. on Dec. 19, the location has yet to be determined.
The location information will be listed in Crescenta Valley Weekly and at www.cvweekly.com.
