The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for the Crescenta Valley area from 3 a.m. on Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.

Winds will be coming out of the northeast at 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts up to 70 miles per hour, according to the warning.

“The winds will start out at 15 to 25 miles per hour, then 25 to 30,” said Stuart Seto, weather specialist from the National Weather Service. “It won’t be as cold as what we had last week. The low will be in the mid-40s [degrees Fahrenheit].”

The winds won’t be as strong as those that blew through the area the first week of December.

“But there is still a danger from trees that had been weakened by the last storm,” Seto said.

Although the wind warning will end on Saturday, the area will still experience “breezy” conditions with winds 15 to 25 miles per hour and it will be warmer with temperatures up three to five degrees Fahrenheit.
