Each year, Santa Claus travels around the world to give presents to all the good little girls and boys, but before he loads up his sleigh at the end of the month, he always makes sure to stop by the La Crescenta Woman’s Club for a hot breakfast and pictures with the kids of the community. The annual Breakfast with Santa was held on Saturday to a sold out crowd of parents and children, excited to meet the famous St. Nick himself and pose for a Christmas card photo.
“We have so much fun here, doing this and creating these beautiful memories for these kids because that’s what I’m all about,” said Dawna Berger, Woman’s Club chair for Breakfast with Santa. “I love these memories, right here with the whole family. But it’s also a win-win because we’re making money for charity, and we donate to so many different organizations, too numerous to even mention, but a lot in the local community and some international.”
Berger and her fellow volunteers have been planning this breakfast since September, and it all went off without a hitch thanks to the members involved and the massive community support. At $15 per ticket, the entire 150-seat event was sold out in presales, and the proceeds went to the aforementioned charity donations.
“We absolutely could not do this without the help of our community. Our community gives to us so generously and we’re always so appreciative of it,” Berger said.
