CHiPs for Kids

By Mary O’KEEFE

California Highway Patrol Officer Ryan Bejar is collecting toys in the Crescenta Valley area for local families in need. CHiPs for Kids is a toy drive program that collects toys for under-served kids from the area that the Altadena CHP office covers.

“These are local families,” Bejar said.

This year he has had requests for 2,000 toys and is about 600 away from reaching that goal.

The new, unwrapped toys are for kids ranging in age from infants to high school. They can be dropped off at Walgreens at 3001 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta or the CHP Altadena office, 2130 Windsor Ave., Altadena 91001.
