Glendale police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred on Foothill Boulevard just east of Lowell Avenue early this morning.
“We got a call from someone who heard the crash,” said Sgt. Dan Suttles, GPD spokesman.
GPD received the call about 4 a.m. when they arrived they found a silver Toyota sedan had hit and broke the “Welcome to Glendale” sign that is in the middle lane of Foothill Boulevard. There was no one at the scene, the driver had fled the area.
The investigation is ongoing. The vehicle had not been reported stolen at the time of the accident.
