Crescenta Valley Sheriff Station’s Annual Food and Toy Drive on Saturday helped the holidays be a little more cheerful for about 70 families.

The annual event, which partners the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Dept. and LA County Parks and Recreation, was a celebration that included breakfast, toys and a visit with Santa.

Families waited in a line as tables were filled with toys, from electronics to storybooks, for all ages. Each child chose two toys from one set of tables and one toy from the art or book tables. The morning started with a continental breakfast for families at Crescenta Valley Park’s community room. The kids then walked into a room with tables lined with stuffed animal toys ¬– and Santa. Each child chose one stuffed toy then visited Santa Claus.

The kids walked into the courtyard to get their toys and, as the families left the event, were given groceries to help their holiday dinner table.
