Around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the 5300 block of Pineridge Road was blocked off as Los Angeles County firefighters and workers from Los Angeles County Department of Public Works responded to a call of flooding.
When they arrived they found the flooding occurred not because of full debris basins but due to debris trapped in a storm drain.
Neighbors reported that the water had backed up into street causing some very nervous moments. The water measured about two feet in some areas.
Workers removed a mesh netting from the drain and the water began flowing again.
Members of the L.A. County Fire Department filled sand bags and as a precaution, put them around a resident’s garage and driveway.
