The Glendale Elks Lodge welcomed families and children with open arms on Sunday, Dec. 22, for their Annual Children’s Christmas Party. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Lodge was a festive wonderland, filled with the sounds of laughter, the smell of delicious food and the warmth of holiday cheer.
Joe Allen, Elks member and event organizer, expressed his delight at the event’s success.
“Families and supporters of the Elks in Glendale turned out. Great numbers of families and kids are once again reaching pre-pandemic attendance. The kids participated in games, activities and crafts. Then Santa made an appearance and took photos with the families. It was a fun day,” he said.
The event, a beloved tradition in the community, featured a free lunch for attendees. Hot dogs and macaroni and cheese were served, providing a kid-friendly meal that delighted young and old alike. But the food was just the beginning of the excitement.
Children and adults alike participated in a variety of games and craft-making activities. Tables were set up with colorful supplies, giving kids the opportunity to create their own holiday masterpieces. For many families, these activities were not only fun but also a chance to spend quality time together during the busy holiday season.
As the afternoon progressed, the excitement reached its peak with the arrival of Santa Claus. Santa’s appearance brought smiles and wide-eyed wonder to the children, many of whom had been eagerly awaiting their chance to meet him. Santa greeted each child warmly, listened to their holiday wishes, and posed for photos, creating memories that families will undoubtedly cherish for years to come.
In addition to the crafts and Santa’s visit, there was a palpable sense of community among attendees. The Glendale Elks Lodge, known for its charitable efforts and dedication to the community, has long been a hub for events that bring people together. The Children’s Christmas Party exemplified the spirit of the Elks, providing a space for families to connect, celebrate and make lasting memories.
As year-over-year attendance numbers continue to grow, the event has now reached levels not seen since before the pandemic. The event’s success is a testament to the community’s resilience and the efforts of the Elks to foster connections through meaningful programs and events.
The Annual Children’s Christmas Party is just one of many ways the Glendale Elks Lodge gives back to the community. From charitable donations to hosting events like these, the organization remains committed to its mission of service and community engagement.
With the success of this year’s celebration, the Glendale Elks are already looking ahead to next year’s festivities, aiming to make it even more memorable. For now, the Lodge can take pride in having brought joy to countless families and setting the stage for a holiday season filled with happiness and togetherness.
