Early Morning Fire at U.S. Bank

L.A. County Fire Dept. responded to a fire around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning at the U.S. Bank building in the Ralphs Marketplace in the 2600 block of Foothill Boulevard.  Reports had been received of  smoke coming from the roof. When fire crews arrived they discovered a small fire in the heating and air conditioning unit on the roof, said Battalion Chief Douglass.  The fire was quickly contained.
Crews from L.A. County Fire Stations 63, 19 and 82 all responded. No injuries were reported. Douglass estimates the damage at $5,000 to $10,000. The bank is still closed as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
