Victoria Pangburn

Feb. 28, 1921 – Dec. 29, 2017

Victoria was born in Houston, Texas and moved to Los Angeles in 1924 with her parents Sam and Lena Cacioppo, and with her two brothers and five sisters. She was raised in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles where she was taken to grammar school on horseback by her brothers. She went on to Lincoln High School from where she graduated.

On Dec. 11, 1941, she married Raymond Pangburn in Las Vegas and lived in Highland Park for 10 years. In 1951, they moved to La Crescenta with their two children, Bill and Patti.

Vicki was a feisty and loving Nonni to her grandchildren, Kyle and Bonnie McGregor and Alex and Byron Pangburn, and to her great grandchildren, Ian, Malachi and Gabriel Pangburn and Amelia and Allen Piatt.

Vicki was a devout Catholic who was in charge of the Altar Society for many years at St. James the Less. She bowled in many leagues in her younger days and was the “Bingo Queen” at the Montrose Healthcare Center where she resided. She passed away peacefully at Adventist Health Glendale at the age of 96 after a major stroke.

Vicki was the last surviving sibling of her family. She is survived by her children Bill and Michaela Pangburn of Cookeville, Tennessee and Patti Wassell of Glendale and her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, Vicki wished to have donations made to the Religious Retirement Fund c/o Retirement Fund for Religious, National Religious Retirement Office, P.O. Box 96988, Washington DC 20090-6988.

The viewing will be on Jan. 18 at 9:30 a.m. at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 4651 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta followed by the rosary and the funeral Mass.
