Mary Catherine Hinkley passed away on Jan. 8 at the age of 95. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and was the daughter of John and Helen Alexander. She had three brothers, two older and one younger. She was in the Navy during WWII, stationed in San Diego as a hospital apprentice.

She married Richard Hinkley in 1959. They moved to La Crescenta and adopted two sons. Richard died in 1978, but she remained at the house until a few months before she died.

She is survived my her sons Dean and Curt, two grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and three great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held on Feb. 6 at the First Baptist Church of La Crescenta, 4441 La Crescenta Ave., at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the service.
