Kathleen Ann Frick

May 17, 1954 – Jan. 27, 2020

Kathy was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Felicia and Robert Sebesta and moved to Glendale when she was 2 years old. She is survived by her son John Frick, daughter in-law Deniece, and grandson Oliver; sister Karen Forrand-Byrnes and brother in-law Don; brother Bob Sebesta and sister in-law Lisa; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She graduated from Crescenta Valley High School, studied at USC, and received her bachelor’s degree from CSUN. She liked being with her family and friends, but loved being at home in comfy clothes, lounging on the couch and watching the PBR and the Hallmark Channel.

Kathy was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in September 2017. She persevered through the chemo treatments every other week for the past 2½ years. She was crowned the “chemo queen” for the positive attitude, laughs and smile she brought to every treatment. In that time she was able to see her grandson born, take a special trip to Wyoming (a lifelong dream of hers) and be there for her grandson’s first birthday.

Kathy was a fighter and never complained no matter how tough things were. She will be missed and will never be forgotten as her legacy and lifetime of lessons live on in her son, grandson, niece and nephews.

Kathy did not want anyone feeling sorry for her and did not want a funeral service. She wants her family and friends to get together to tell stories, reminisce and have a good time. To honor her wishes, we will be having a remembrance party as she requested on Feb. 22 from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, please reach out to her cellphone number or the cellphone number of her son John.
