July 30, 1935 – Feb. 15, 2019

Annemarie Sophie Hahnlein, age 83, passed away at her home in La Crescenta on Friday, Feb. 15. She was born July 30, 1935 in the city of Westerland on the island of Sylt in Germany to Hermine and Johannes Bahnsen. She married Gunter Ernst Hahnlein on Oct. 4, 1957 in Monterey Bay, California.

She worked as a pharmacy technician with Verdugo Hills Hospital for over 30 years always exuding such kindness and generosity toward everyone she met. 

Annemarie truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: spending time with her granddaughters Bridget Marie, Cristina, and Rebecca, chatting with friends and family, gardening and baking delicious German pastries. 

She is survived by her husband Gunter; her two sons Robert and Werner; her grandchildren Bridget Marie, Cristina and Rebecca; and her sister Christa. 

Funeral services will be held at Crippen Mortuary, 2900 Honolulu Ave. in Glendale/La Crescenta at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2. Reception to follow immediately at the La Crescenta Woman’s Club, 4004 La Crescenta Ave., La Crescenta.
