Julietta McGowan

Jan. 11, 1930 – Feb. 25, 2013

Julietta McGowan was born on Jan. 11, 1930 in El Paso, Tex. and passed away at home on Feb. 25 in Glendale.

Julie graduated from El Paso Technical High School in 1948 and later in life moved to New Orleans, La. for several years. During the mid 1950s, she moved to Los Angeles where she met her husband Doyle McGowan. They married on Feb. 29, 1964 and lived in the same home in Glendale until their passing.

Julie was very active with the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montrose where she was, at one point, her daughters’ Girl Scout leader and room mom. She was a member of the Apartment Assn. of Greater Los Angeles, the Verdugo Woodlands Assn. and the Los Angeles Theatre Organ Society. She loved to play the organ or hear others play music and also enjoyed dancing.

Julie is preceded in death by her husband Leron Doyle McGowan. She is survived by her three daughters, Gigi M. Nabonne of Carrollton, Tex., Kathleen M. Rosenberry of Newport Beach, and Carmen Camille Files of Glendora; three sons-in-law, Tim Nabonne, Charles Rosenberry, and Lance Files; and seven grandchildren.

A rosary service will be held at Crippen Mortuary, located at 2900 Honolulu Ave., La Crescenta at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 3. The funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on March 4 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, located at 2411 Montrose Ave. in Montrose.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.
