On March 22, Darline Hahn Cline Tucker lost her battle to heart disease and cancer. At 83 Darline faced her illness with her ever-present dignity, grace and a sense of humor.
Darline was born in Ollie, Iowa on May 6, 1932. She married Richard Cline and the couple raised their two boys, Rick and Dan, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. During those years she worked as Mahaska County Clerk. Her boys grew up and left Iowa, and Richard passed away.
Darline moved to La Crescenta to be close to her son, daughter-in-law Susan and her grandchildren. While there she enjoyed every minute spent with her grandkids and worked at a local fabric store.
Rick succumbed to multiple sclerosis and Darline moved to Glendale, Arizona where she met and married Norman Tucker. Together they had a wonderful life filled with loving family and friends. Darline was a lifelong Methodist and attended Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church since 1998.
Darline passed away in Glendale, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Seaba Hahn and Frank Hahn, her first husband Richard Cline, second husband Norman Tucker and her two sons, Rick and Dan.
She is survived by sister Berniece Gabel Tucker, niece Sheryl Dickey, great neice Dara Paulson and husband Brett, from Oskaloosa; daughter-in-law Susan Cline, grandchildren Richard Christopher, Shereen Elizabeth and Stevie Lynn Cline from California; stepsons Gene, his wife Shelly, and Gary, his wife Cheryl, Tucker and grandchildren Jeff, Lance, Aaron and Chris; and her lifelong friend Becky Keefe.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The memorial celebrating Darline’s life will be held at the Dove of the Desert, 7201 West Beardsley, Glendale, Arizona 85308, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2.
